Gauntlet Launches Morpho Vaults on Tempo as Day-1 Curator

Key Takeaways

Gauntlet Launches Morpho Vaults on Tempo as Day-1 Curator

Two Gauntlet vaults, Prime and Frontier, ship with six markets on Tempo's stablecoin-native L1.

Gauntlet is live as the day-1 curator on Tempo, with two pathUSD vaults supplied through Morpho's deployment on the chain. Across Prime and Frontier, Gauntlet is launching six markets at the chain's on Morpho deployment, more than any other curator on Tempo.

What's live

Gauntlet pathUSD Prime (gtpathusdp) aims to optimize for risk-adjusted yield by allocating across large market cap assets and high liquidity yield sources. The vault's risk strategy follows the Gauntlet Prime conservative framework whereby we curate supply to manage security and yield to provide a low risk profile at competitive APY. Our Prime vault will only allocate to the cbBTC market at launch.

Gauntlet pathUSD Frontier (gtpathusdf) targets maximum yield by allocating to potentially higher volatility yield sources that may face liquidity risks in exchange for greater returns. The vault's risk strategy follows Gauntlet's Frontier framework whereby we curate supply to aggressively target higher yields while managing security to provide an aggressive risk profile at competitive APYs. Allocated markets at launch include cbBTC, syrupUSDC, sUSDe, stcUSD, wsrUSD, and siUSD.

Oracle feeds from RedStone power the cbBTC/pathUSD and syrupUSDC/pathUSD markets, while Chronicle feeds are used for sUSDe/pathUSD, stcUSD/pathUSD, wsrUSD/pathUSD and siUSD/pathUSD markets.

About pathUSD

pathUSD is a native USD stablecoin issued by Bridge on Tempo, the stablecoin issuance platform owned by Stripe. It is one of the most widely used TIP-20 stablecoins on Tempo and can be used to pay transaction fees directly.  Both Gauntlet vaults are denominated in pathUSD.

Why Gauntlet on Tempo

Tempo is built for stablecoin-native payments and settlement. The chain went live on mainnet in March 2026 with no native gas token: transaction fees are paid directly in TIP-20 stablecoins, with an integrated AMM that converts fees to a validator's preferred token. Tempo was incubated by Stripe and Paradigm and built in partnership with leading fintechs and Fortune 500s.

This is the kind of chain where the curation and yield layer needs to be conservative, transparent, and audit-ready out of the box. Gauntlet has spent eight years building quantitative risk infrastructure for onchain finance, with risk models that today safeguard over $42 billion in digital assets across the protocols and integrations Gauntlet works with. The same research-grounded methodology applies to the Tempo markets from day one: parameter calibration, ongoing allocation, oracle and liquidity discipline.

“We’re excited to lead DeFi growth for Tempo by being day-1 curator and launching the most markets on Morpho,” said Nicholas Del Zingaro, Head of Vault Curation at Gauntlet.”Tempo is built for stablecoin payments at enterprise scale, and the DeFi infrastructure sitting alongside those flows needs to meet the same bar. Gauntlet brings eight years of quantitative risk discipline to the pathUSD vaults on Tempo from launch.”

Tempo enters a category that has been waiting for a clean stablecoin-native settlement layer for years. Gauntlet's role is to make sure the credit and yield layer that sits on top of it is built with the same discipline, from day one.
